Planning your Navy ROTC – Marine Corps Option scholarship application for the 2026-2027 cycle? Here’s what’s confirmed and how to lock in the official board dates.

The Marine Corps Option runs a separate board through Marine Corps Recruiting Command, with dates released later in the year (typically a MARADMIN in mid-to-late summer). Expect roughly two boards — one in late October/early November and another in spring.

Because the Marine Corps Option runs its own board cycle, the exact application deadline and board dates for this cycle have not been officially released yet. Do not rely on a fixed calendar date until Marine Corps Recruiting Command publishes it — watch for the MARADMIN and confirm the dates through the official application portal below.

Note that each Marine Corps Recruiting district holds their own board, and boards are normally conducted in the first two weeks of the month. Board results are usually announced about one month after the board concludes, and candidates can continue to be awarded a scholarship off the “alternate list” later in the cycle.

The SAT/ACT is still required for a completed packet. Scores must be sent to NROTC Test Code 0565.

This is specific information for the Marine Corps Option scholarship, read our post on Navy ROTC board dates if you’re also interested in the Navy ROTC scholarship.

The application portal opened on April 1, 2026.
