ROTC College Incentives

Will your colleges pay for room and board?

Some ROTC programs cover full room and board on top of the scholarship. Others waive out-of-state tuition, or arrange free housing at a crosstown school. On this list those offers commonly run $3,000 to $10,000 a year, and at some schools cover the full cost. Most families never find out, because programs rarely publish it next to the scholarship. So we contacted all 572 of them and put what they told us in one place.

Is this not just on each school's website?

Rarely. Most programs do not post their room and board offer at all, and when they do it is worded differently and often out of date. Getting a straight answer means reaching the right person at each program. We did that across all 572, confirmed what each one offers, and put it in one format so you compare schools side by side.

Why trust the data

Built by the team that coaches these applications

This is the same incentive list our officers use inside paid scholarship coaching. A 4-year ROTC scholarship is worth roughly $40,000 to $80,000 at a public university, and over $200,000 at many private schools. The room and board incentives stack on top of that: many schools cover $3,000 to $10,000 a year, and a handful go past $25,000 over four years. Which campus you choose decides how much of your housing is covered, so this database exists to make that decision with the facts in front of you.
